Keep it movin'!

Thinking of ways to incorporate moving into my everyday exhausted existence! I've started wearing my Fitbit to track my steps, heart rate and even sleeping patterns.  Getting back to being more active other than my usual Yoga routine has been a challenge, but if I can keep doing things I like and keep it from being mundane it should be easy to keep it up!

Who says resistance training can't be fun!  I think this picture proves it can be (wheeew what a work out for both of us!).

After a long night shift who doesn't like to come home and mow their yard...the old fashioned way!  We live on a little over an acre of land that has a pretty significant incline in our back yard.  This gets a good part of my steps in, gets my heart pumping and if the grass is tall enough requires some muscles!

With all the sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling involved with patient care maintaining good posture is important.  I try to stand as much as I can during my working shifts (13-15 hours!).  We have a few computers that can be used as standing stations.  I like to incorporate ways to make it interesting.
